The Main Interface
United Airlines Flight
Operations is not only an add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 but also
a complete game. In fact, beyond the adventures and the new planes, it contain
an original software that allow you to replicate all the most popular airline
operations, as in real life.
When you launch UA.EXE this
screen will appear.
First of all, you must use the
Settings Button to register your personal information. After this operation
your Pilot Name and location will appear on the screen.
The main screen contain also a
summary of your activity: Your current Rank, the amount of the hours flown,
the number of flights recorded by the LogBook etc.
To start your career you must
become an United Airlines Pilot. You do not have still any Rank and to gain
your Pilot title, and become so an United Airlines Pilot,
you must execute a Chekride.
Click on the Check Ride button
and this screen will appear to you.
The program communicates to
you that you are cleared to execute the UNITED CHECK RIDE N. 1. A this point
annotate carefully the CODE displayed, go to UA/PLAN subfolder and open the
CHKR01.PDF. This file contain the flight plan for your Check Ride / Adventure.
Now start FS2002 and select UNITED CHECK RIDE N. 1 from the menu FLIGHT/FLIGHT
SIMULATOR 2000 ADVENTURES/
Automatically the start
situation will load and the adventure, during the flight, will ask you the
CODE of clearance.
To communicate the CODE to the
adventure press CTRL-1 and digit
125 (use only the key under the function key. Do not use keypad). Now digit
your CODE and you will receive the clearance to continue.
When the adventure end, tune
your radio on 135.50 and stand by. If your score is good, you will receive a
new CODE that you must use with the Register Examination button.
Run UA.EXE, select Check Ride
and click on Register Examination and sign the code you have received from the
adventure. Press send code and wait.
If your code is correct this
screen will appear.
A this point you can begin
your Pilot activity. Click on the FLIGHTS button to access to the UNITED
AIRLINES Flights page.
There are about 700 flights/adventures
available but you can access only to the flights allowed for your current Rank.
From the list of Flights you
can select one of your choice simply by clicking on or using the Button
SELECT FLIGHT
When a flight has selected,
the following screen appear to inform you how to fly it and with which
airplane.
Now you are ready to fly the
adventure. Launch FS2002 and select the flight from the menu Flight/Flight
Planner/Load. You will be located at the departure Airport. You can also print
the flight plan from FS2002 using the Planner Print button.
Therefore, select the
appropriate aircraft and now launch the UNITED AIRLINES FLIGHT OPERATION ADV
MODULE adventure from the menu FLIGHT/FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2000 ADVENTURES/
When the flight end you can
compile your personal LogBook. Launch UA.EXE and click on LOGBOOK button.
Use the bottom buttons to add,
edit, delete the flight displayed.
Use LIST button to see the
list of your recorded flights.
Use Top, Bottom, Previous,
Next buttons to navigate in the databases
To add a new flight click on
NEW.
Fill the form with your
information and click on SAVE to recorder the flight.
In the same manner keep on
your Pilot activity. The program count your flight hours and when you have
collected a certain number of hours it will ask to execute a Check Ride to
upgrade your Rank. In this manner you will progress your career in according
with the following scheme:
